Boyce named Overall Donegal Sports Star for 2021

Brendan Boyce has been named as the Overall Donegal Sports Star Awards winner for 2021.

Boyce enjoyed a year to remember as he came tenth in the 50km Race Walk at the Olympics during the summer.

It is the second time that Boyce has won the Overall award, as he was also honoured in 2019.

The 46th Donegal Sports Star awards were held virtually for the second year in-a-row, and the Donegal Sports Star Committee put together a slick and informative show.

The 2021 Award winners are as follow:

Olympic Recognition: Brendan Boyce, Eilish Flanagan, Mark English, Mona McSharry (Competitors), Teresa McDaid, Daniel Magee, Michael Black (Coaches), Dr Sharon Madigan (Nutritionist)

Professional Sport Achievement: Jason Quigley

Team: Donegal Women’s Senior Cross Country Team

Club: St Eunan’s GAA Club

Primary School: Dromore NS, Killygordon
