DONEGAL manager Declan Bonner is wary of a Roscommon backlash as his team prepare for a trip to Dr Hyde Park in their second Super 8s game on Saturday.

Both counties were beaten in their respective group stages openers last week, but Donegal were only five points behind the reigning All-Ireland champions, Dublin, while the Rossies were hammered by 18 points against Tyrone.

Bonner expects a marked improvement from Roscommon, and he also wants to see a better performance from his side in what he calls a ‘must-win game’.

“We have to be ready this week. Roscommon need to win as much as we do, and they’ll be throwing everything they have at us.

“We have to improve on things that we wouldn’t have been happy with last weekend.

“Hyde Park is not an easy place to go, and let no-one think any different.

“Roscommon’s match with Tyrone last week will have no great bearing. Yeah, it might have dented their confidence a bit, but a lot can change in a week.

“They need to win the match, and they have home advantage which is huge.”
