Bonagee United 5 Letterbarrow Celtic 0
BONAGEE United will play in the Brian McCormick Sports Premier Division next season after sealing promotion on the final day as they put in a dominant display against Letterbarrow Celtic on Sunday afternoon in the sunshine.
Deano Larkin scored after 12 seconds which could be a new Donegal League record and that goal was swiftly followed by a header from Aaron Wasson.
Taylor Russell netted the third and Sean Hume popped up to make it four before half-time while Larkin scored early in the second-half to complete to rout.
The saying in football, “two goals in as many minutes” is often used but Bonagee United, in their quest for promotion, knocked it up a notch at the start of their final league game.
Arriving even a minute or two late, most football fans would expect a game to be scoreless but that wasn’t the case at Dry Arch Park.
In what could possibly go down as the fastest goal of the season, Bonagee took the lead with only 12 seconds on the clock. Sean Hume released Aaron Wasson down the left side and his cut back was placed into the far corner by Deano Larkin.
