Bonagee defeat Cockhill and win Donegal News League Cup

Bonagee United 4-3 Cockhill Celtic

Bonagee United were celebrating in Maginn Park this evening after they defeated Cockhill in an exciting tussle to retain the Donegal News League Cup.

Bonagee started well and Conor Black hit the net in the ninth minute.

Deano Larkin then doubled their lead with a fine header.

Cockhill needed a big start to the second half but Tony McNamee won and converted a penalty for Bonagee.

The Inishowen side pulled a goal back through a Lee McColgan spot-kick.

However, Bonagee restored their three-goal advantage when Conor Black bravely scored in the 58th minute.

Cockhill grabbed a second goal when Gareth Breslin deflected Corey McBride’s shot over his own goalkeeper and into the net.

Jimmy Bradley made it 4-3 in the 95th minute but Cockhill couldn’t find a leveller and Bonagee claimed the silverware.
