Bluestack Special Needs Foundation to benefit from New Year’s Day Swim

THE Bluestack Special Needs Foundation has been chosen as the beneficiary charity for their iconic annual New Year’s Day Dip at Marble Hill beach.

The charity swim, organised by Doe Amateur Swimming Club, will be kicking off at 2pm on Thursday, January 1.

The beloved tradition, which is celebrating its 48th year, brings together brave swimmers of all ages to plunge into the wild Atlantic waters of Sheephaven Bay, shaking off the old year and diving into the new with community spirit and sheer bravery.

Previous dips have raised thousands for vital local causes, creating togetherness and generosity across Donegal.

Whether you’re a hardy regular or a curious newcomer, join Doe Amateur Swimming Club to swim, support from the shore or simply cheer on the participants.

All registration fees, bucket collections and donations on the day will go directly to the Bluestack Special Needs Foundation, helping us enhance the lives of people with additional needs and provide essential support to their families and carers across Donegal.

Bundle up, grab your togs and towel and warm up afterwards with hot refreshments, it’s the ideal way to start 2026.

For more information, check out the Doe Amateur Swimming Club on social media, the Bluestack Foundation website www.bluestackfoundation.com or just show up on the day to register.

Get there early for parking. There will be a one-way system in place, so please follow the advice of the stewards.
