Patrick McBrearty has been ruled out for Sunday’s Division 2 final with Armagh.
Donegal boss Jim McGuinness confirmed the news at Monday night’s press launch of the Ulster Championship.
The Donegal captain had a scan in Dublin after coming off with an injury to his leg in the 1-18 to 1-10 win over Meath in MacCumhaill Park on Saturday.
That win meant Donegal finished top of Division 2 and face Armagh in the league decider at Croke Park on Easter Sunday, throw-in 1.45pm.
The Kilcar clubman has hit 1-26 in the league so far but will definitely miss the final according to McGuinness, while the boss is hopeful McBrearty’s clubmate, Ryan McHugh, who also came off injured, may feature.
