Letterkenny man Shane Blaney has joined Scottish Premiership side Livingston ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Blaney left Motherwell two weeks ago following the expiration of his contract.
Defender Blaney, 26, arrived at Fir Park two years ago from Sligo Rovers and made more than 50 appearances for the club. His last outing for the ‘Well came in February.
He came up through the ranks with Illistrin and the Donegal Schoolboys before moving to Finn Harps.
Spells with Doncaster Rovers, Tamworth, Grantham Town and Blyth Spartans followed before he made real progress with Sligo.
Blaney soon earned a move to Scotland and will continue to play his football there.
Livingston have been promoted from the Scottish Championship and Blaney should be a good fit for them as they return to the top tier.
Livingston confirmed the news on Friday.
“We are delighted to announce capturing the signature of defender Shane Blaney who joins us from Motherwell.
“The centre-back makes the short journey east and is the fifth summer recruit.
“Welcome to West Lothian, Shane!”
