THE Bishop of Raphoe, Most Rev Alan McGuckian, SJ, has announced the following clergy appointments in the diocese.
Rev Dr Niall Coll returns to the diocese after 19 years lecturing in St Mary’s University College, Belfast, to take up the position of Parish Priest of Drumholm (Ballintra), effective September 11.
Monsignor Kevin Gillespie, Adm St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, will also be Adm Glenswilly and Templedouglas.
Rev Fr Jonathan Flood, Chaplain, St Eunan’s College, Letterkenny, will also be Curate (CC) in Glenswilly, effective September 4.
Bishop McGuckian wants to thank both men for accepting their appointments and wishes them and those with whom they serve every blessing in the time ahead.
The Bishop also wants to thank Fr O Fearrai, Fr Hanlon and Fr Burke for their generous ministry to the Parish of Ballintra since the loss of Fr Joe O’Donnell (RIP) in July 2019. He also appreciates the Priests of the Cathedral parish who have generously taken care of the Parish of Glenswilly since Fr Sweeney (RIP) first become ill in 2019.
