Bishop McGuckian to perform ordination of Rev Anthony Hartnett on Sunday

Former Bishop of Raphoe Alan McGuckian will return to the diocese this Sunday to perform the ordination of Deacon Rev. Anthony Hartnett.

A native of Co. Wicklow, Rev. Hartnett has been living in Donegal for over ten years and was ordained a Deacon in the Church of Mary Immaculate in Stranorlar last September.

His ordination on Sunday will be a proud day for himself, his family and his many friends.

And it will be a special day for the diocese as Bishop McGuckian, recently appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Down and Connor, makes his first return to the diocese where he served as Bishop for over six years.

Monsignor Kevin Gillespie as Diocesan Administrator of the Diocese of Raphoe will oversee the ceremony.

Sunday’s ordination ceremony will begin at 3pm.
