It proved to be the perfect birthday weekend for Stephen McMenamin as he helped Donegal to provincial glory on Sunday.
McMenamin turned 22 on Saturday, but he had to delay the celebrations because of the Ulster Final.
However, he was able to put on his party hat on Sunday night in Donegal Town after playing his part in the provincial final success.
“We went at it hard and we thought we were well clear and they came back at us, and it was worrying near the end.
“But we thought we were always in control of the game, and we held it well in the second half.
“It was just good to get over the line. Finals aren’t always pretty but it’s all about winning.”
