A new mural featuring village character Joey Ward has recently been unveiled in Doochary Village.
The original mural had been vandalised with the wall unable to hold paint, so the committee rose to the challenge of creating a new one.
The mural features aspects of wildlife and pollinators that the committee have been working extremely hard to support with its Pollinator Pathway which begins at the Corkscrew picnic area and meanders along the river walk.
Spokesperson for the committee Janice Ward said they have been planting native wildflowers, trees, erecting native bee lodges, bird/ bat boxes and cutting paths rather than mowing in our Nature/Faery Garden.
“Our committee member Harry has been busy teaching gardening and creating a community garden with Honesty Box, with produce available for villagers.
“The mural represents our village’s commitment to nature and our love of our beautiful village,” she said.
