A charity car run organised by Lifford man Keith ‘Bear’ Gamble has netted over £10,000 for charity.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Graham Warke received the cheque which will go towards his nominated charity, Foyle Down Syndrome Trust.
The cash was raised through the hugely successful Bear Run 74 which saw a fleet of high end super and muscle cars convoy through Derry and Donegal.
On being presented with the cheque Mayor Warke said, “I am totally overwhelmed at the generosity and kindness of people across the north west.
“I would like to offer my sincere thanks to everyone who took part, donated money or gave up their time to support it.”
Councillor Warke added that he was looking forward to the next big fundraiser, Supercar Saturday, taking place in Derry city centre on May 21 from noon to 3pm where the public can again get up close to an array of modern and classic cars.
