AN Grianán Theatre is pleased to announce a special performance of Bassam on Thursday, November 29.
This performance is intended to mark the end of the current successful tour of Bassam and, as well as being the last chance to see the show on the current run, will be a celebration of the success to date of An Grianán’s Peace III funded projects with a preview of future Peace III projects.
Bassam has toured 20 venues across the north west with both public and private school performances and public interest in the shows has been strong.
The night will begin at 8pm with the performance of Bassam, followed by a questions and answers session with the actor, Fadl Mustapha, and the writer/director, Idan Meir.
The discussion will centre around the themes and issues explored in the play, namely the conflict in Israel, the plight of Palestinians and methods of conflict resolution.
In light of recent events in Gaza, this kind of conversation is more relevant now than ever and a healthy level of audience participation in the debate is forecast.
After the questions and answers session, there will be a post-show reception which will be hosted by Sean McCormack, the Chairman of An Grianán Theatre.
Sean McCormack will be saying a few words on the night about what has been accomplished thus far with the help of Peace III funding and what we intend to achieve in the future.
Little John Nee will also be present to talk about his previous show, Bag of Queens, and his upcoming project, Sparkplug Trouble.
As with all Peace III funded projects, admission on the night is free of charge but prior booking is recommended to avoid disappointment and asked as a courtesy so that plans can be made for the catering of the post-show reception.
