Ballads, rock and drama at The Balor this week

AWARD winning drama along with music from one of Ireland’s most popular singers and a local rock night make for a rich and varied programme of events at The Balor, Ballybofey, this week.
Wednesday December 1 sees the return of The Butt Drama Circle’s brilliant In Other Words. This is a humorous and deeply moving love story which explores the effects of Alzheimer’s and the power of music in our lives. It was first staged at The Balor last month and has since had a very successful run in the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland One Act Festivals winning a slew of awards including Best Production in both Letterkenny and Manorhamilton Drama Festivals. This is one last chance to see it before it heads to Ennis to compete in the All Ireland One Act Finals this weekend.
Friday December 3sees the return of the ever popular Tommy Fleming to The Balor. One of the most distinctive and popular singers in Ireland today, Tommy has been entertaining the masses with his extraordinary talent for almost 30 years.
Tommy is famous for his arrangements of songs such as Danny Boy, Isle of Inishfree and Hard Times, lending his incredible voice to classic melodies as he turns each song into his own.

The ever popular Tommy Fleming will be in the Balor of Friday, performing a repertoire of well known songs.

Such is his success, he has toured with the great Elaine Paige and Kenny Rogers in recent years and recorded duets with Vince Gill, Christy Hennessy, Phil Coulter, Lucie Silvas, Cara Dillon, Eleanor Shanley, De Dannan and Mark Vincent to name but a few.

Saturday sees music of an entirely different kind as blues/rock trio Midnight Preachers are joined by local bands Duality and DiG! for a night of high energy rock.
