Dessie Larkin expenses claim sent to DPP


THE Standards Commission has found that former Donegal County Councillor Dessie Larkin contravened ethics legislation when he submitted claims for travelling and subsistence expenses.


Shaun Kelly gets four years jail with two suspended


SHAUN Kelly (26) was sentenced to four years imprisonment with the last two suspended at the Circuit Court sitting in Letterkenny today for causing the death by dangerous driving of eight people in July 2010.


Revenue seizes cigarettes, spirits and beer in Donegal and other counties


IN an intelligence-led operation today (Monday) officers from Revenue’s Customs Service, assisted by An Garda Síochána, seized 524,500 cigarettes, 745 litres of spirits, 185 litres of beer, 3 vehicles and cash totalling €29,810. Revenue detection dogs Harvey, Frankie and Ben also assisted in the operation.
