Council chop down ancient oak despite residents’ pleas


DONEGAL County Council has felled a 90-year-old Sessile Oak tree in Ballyraine, despite residents’ desperate pleas. The tree, located between the entrances to Ballyraine Park and Orchard Grove, has been removed to make way for a new cycle path, which is part of the Letterkenny Active Travel Project.


Emergency services tackle blaze in St Johnston 


EMERGENCY services attended the scene of a fire that occurred at a premises in St Johnston last night. Gardaí and fire crews were called to the scene around 7pm and worked through the night to bring the blaze under control. No injuries were reported. Advertisement
