Aura Leisure Centre burgled on Christmas Day

BURGLARS attempted to force open a safe in Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny on Christmas Day.

Access to the property was gained when a side window was smashed sometime between 4.05pm and 4.15pm.

An attempt was made to open a safe located in the office area, but this was unsuccessful.

Nothing was taken during the course of the burglary.

The latest incident comes following another burglary at the premises on April 30, 2019. The emergency exit door at the pool side of the centre was damaged and entry was gained by three youths wearing dark clothing. Nothing was taken during that incident.

Anyone who observed any suspicious activity in the area at that that time on Christmas Day is asked to call Letterkenny Garda Station on (074)  91 67100.
