Audit of car parks in Letterkenny ‘very timely’ – Cllr

CONFIRMATION that an audit of car parks in Letterkenny is set to take place has been welcomed by the Cathaoirleach of Letterkenny Milford Municipal District Council, Cllr. Ciaran Brogan.

Calling for the audit at its monthly meeting, he said that some car parks are “under more pressure than others” and felt it was timely to look at the subject and the hourly and daily rates.

The audit will identify what car parks are best suited for short-term parking, long-term parking or a mixture of both.

During a discussion on the issue, the possibility of having park and ride facilities was also raised and there were also calls for improved signage.

Cllr. Gerry McMonagle asked that traffic wardens be present at the meeting as well as business representatives from the Main Street.
