Attack on security guard at Moville Hotel

A BRICK was thrown through the window of a security guard’s car assigned to the Caiseal Mara Hotel in Moville last night.

Gardai confirmed they are investigating the incident which took place shortly before 8pm. The hotel, which was damaged in an arson attack last month, is set to accommodate 100 asylum seekers.

The security guard was not injured in the incident and no arrests have yet been made.

A Spokesperson for the Gardai said this morning: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage which occurred shortly before 8pm on Thursday, at a premises in Foyle Street, Moville. A car was damaged in the incident. There were no injuries and investigations are ongoing.”
