Assessment of Ramelton signage to be carried out

SIGN posts for the Lennon Waterfall in Ramelton were called for by Cllr Pauric McGarvey at Tuesday’s Letterkenny Milford Municipal District meeting describing the waterfall as a “hidden gem”.

Also known as the Salmon Leap, Cllr McGarvey said he visited there as a child and now brings his own children there.

“Make it a tourist attraction for the town and promote the area,” he said.

Seconded by Cllr Liam Blaney, he said he drives through Ramelton most days and had not noticed the absence of signs for the waterfall until the matter was raised by his council colleague.

The council executive provided the following response: An assessment will be carried out to establish the signage required.

An application will be prepared for Tourism funding for the erection of these signs.
