Artist designs poster for Line of Duty star

ROSSNOWLAGH artist Barry Britton made a very special presentation recently when he handed over a hand drawn poster to Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar.
The actor was in Donegal earlier this month and paid a visit to Barry’s sea front gallery, not for the first time. Enniskillen-born Dunbar has long been a fan of Barry’s work and the pair first met around 20 years ago.
Speaking to the Donegal News this week Barry  said the poster commemorates the star’s Channel 5 show ‘Adrian Dunbar’s Coastal Ireland’. The two-part series, produced by Belfast-based Afro-Mic Productions, aired last winter. Barry and his dog co-starred in the programme and took a walk on the beach during the actor’s visit to the area.
“I tried to get him in surfing but he was having none of it. I had a wet suit ready for him,” said Barry.
“I met him for the first time about twenty years ago. I got in touch with him about an exhibition in the Abbey Centre in Ballyshannon and I asked him would he launch it and he did.”
Barry was contacted by production company Afro-Mic about designing something to celebrate the programme which has been hugely successful.
The self taught artist is famous among surfers and trad music fans for his annual intercounty surf and Ballyshannon Folk Festival posters.
“I have been drawing since I was a child, since I could hold a pen,” said Barry.
