CONGRATULATIONS to Donegal artist Philip Mackey on getting through to the Dublin Heat of The Sky Portrait Artist of the Year 2014 this week.
It was held in The Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, on Sunday, June 15 last he was fortunate enough to have been one of the twelve artists from throughout the 32 counties selected to participate.
All entrants had to submit a self-portrait and I believe there were 1,500 entrants initially out of which the final 12 artists were chosen for this heat.
All selected portraits from last year’s and this year’s heats have been published by Sky Arts and the title of the book is A Little Book Of Portraits.
