Gardaí make arrest as part of Letterkenny murder probe

A 37-year-old man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the brutal murder of Polish national, Bogdan Michalkiewicz in Letterkenny over three weeks ago.

The Polish man was arrested by gardai in the Oldtown area of Leterkenny at around 6.50 pm. He is being questioned at Letterkenny Garda Station for withholding information.

The man is being held under the provisions of section 30 offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.

The body of Mr Michalkiawicz was discovered at 15 Westside Apartments, Letterkenny on the morning of Wednesday, May 15.  The deceased was last seen alive at lunchtime on Monday, May 13.

Last week his brother appealed for help in tracking down the killer.
In an interview with the Donegal News, Tomasz Michalkiewicz, said his brother Bogdan’s death had ‘devastated the family’.
