ARRANMORE Island’s RNLI all-weather lifeboat volunteer crew responded to three calls for assistance over the Christmas period.
On Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 and Friday 29 December the volunteer crew answered their pagers to help others in need.
The first two call outs were to assist in medical evacuations from the island and the third to bring the out of hours doctor on call to assess a patient on Arranmore.
The crew attending the call outs were, Coxswain Jimmy Early, second coxswain, Sean O’Donnell, mechanic Philip McCauley, second mechanic John McHugh and crew members Finbar Gallagher, Kieran O’Donnell, Micky McHugh, Brian Proctor, Jamie Neeson and JJ O’Donnell.
Sean O’Donnell said “we have been busy over the Christmas period but are always happy to answer the call for assistance. Like all RNLI stations we are on call around the clock every day of the year.
“I would like to thank the crew who give their time all year but especially at Christmas time when they have families at home. We wish all a happy, peaceful and safe New Year.”
