ARMED garda patrols will be deployed along the border from tonight (Friday) as security is stepped up to curb an upsurge in cross border crime. Gardai believe two highly organised ‘travelling’ criminal gangs from Limerick and Dublin are behind the spate of crime.
They have based themselves just across the border in Derry and Strabane in order to carry out burglaries and thefts in Donegal.
