LAST NIGHT (Wednesday) night talented Ardara teenager Gráinne Gavigan became the second Donegal contestant to make the final of TG4’s Glór Tire.
The 18-year-old LYIT student followed in her mentor Lisa McHugh’s footsteps to make it through to the final three of this year’s show thanks to the public vote.
Michael Regan from Galway was the first to get through on the public vote, followed by Gráinne. The third finalist, saved, by the judges, was Anthony McBrien from Enniskillen.
Gráinne said: “It was so great to get through on the public vote as the wait to see if I would be saved or not would have been awful.
“I’m really grateful to everyone for voting, but last night (Wednesday), our voting totals were put back to zero so hopefully people will continue to vote for me for the last time before voting lines closing next Wednesday before the show at midday.”
Gráinne has been making big waves on the Irish Country scene performing with popular artists such as Lisa McHugh, Nathan Carter, Robert Mizzell and Patrick Feeney during her campaign to round up the votes and in the lead-up to the final it will be no different.
She said: “I am actually gigging tonight (Thursday) in Donegal town at Paul Kelly’s album launch. I’m not sure what exactly is happening this weekend, but I will definitely be performing a lot to round up the votes over the next few days.”
If you would like to see Gráinne Gavigan win this year’s Glór Tire final, please vote for the Ardara girl before Wednesday, April 17, midday.
