GARDAI in Letterkenny are investigating the cause of a fire which resulted in up to nine cars being burned out in an underground car park at Rosemount Lane in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 2am and the fires were brought under control some two hours later.
Families living in seventeen apartments above the car cark were all safely evacuated and two business premises – O’Hehirs Bakery and Watson Menswear – remain closed today.
The road is closed this morning and a technical examination is due to take place later today.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 0749167100.
