OUTGOING Chairman of the Regional Health Forum West, Cllr Gerry McMonagle asked Tuesday’s meeting for an update on where the review of the NowDoc Service for Donegal is currently at.
Cllr McMonagle told the meeting there were a lot of concerns from patients, service users and staff.
“The answer given raises more questions than answers. Are we engaging with the service users? When do you think decisions will be made and what kind of service are we going to have in Donegal?
“I would like someone to elaborate on the issues,” Cllr McMonagle said.
In the written answer it was stated “we have given assurances that the HSE are continuing to work in partnership with NowDoc and Caredoc to ensure that the public using the GP Out of Hours Service, and the staff working in the service, are provided with the necessary supports to deliver the best care to our service users, while ensuring that patient safety and quality of service are at the forefront of service delivery.
“The HSE will continue to communicate and engage with all relevant stakeholders to ensure they are fully appraised of, and consulted on any future developments.”
