As heavy rain continues today across Donegal, the forecast is predicting more of the same over the coming days.
Donegal County Council have today issued a Moderate Weather Warning for rain for Donegal.
The Yellow Rain warning is valid from 3pm on Monday to 10am on Tuesday.
It comes as Met Éireann is forecasting heavy and persistent rain at times. The rain could lead to localised flooding and difficult traveling conditions.
The affected areas include Cork, Kerry, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim and Mayo.
A Yellow Rain warning was also in place from 6am this morning (Sunday) and was valid to 3pm today.
The incessant rain has led to a number of sporting and community event cancellations.
One of the biggest sporting events of the weekend – the Donegal Half Marathon – went ahead as planned, although conditions weren’t easy for the participants and spectators along the course around Letterkenny.
