FOLLOWING on from a successful first run last year, the Woodland NS Parents Association 5k Run and 2.5k Fun Walk returns on Thursday 12 September at 6.30 pm.
The event is open to the whole community, from runners looking to beat their best times to those who just fancy an evening stroll through the wonderful winding lanes of Woodlands in Letterkenny.
Woodland NS Principal Ms Patricia Slevin said: “Our inaugural 5k was a huge success and a real highlight for the school family last year. The sense of community and the excitement it created was a testament to the amazing work of our Parents Association.”
Over 660 people registered last year and enjoyed an amazing atmosphere on the run.
This year the 5k entrants will get bibs and chips (for timing) while the 2.5k fun walk is for families to simply enjoy in their own time. When registered online they do not need to queue on the night, so just get to the start for 6.30pm.
Woodland NS Wellbeing Team Leader Catherine Kay said: “At Woodland NS, we have a strong focus on wellbeing. Our 5k is a fantastic way to support this focus where we’ll be combining physical activity with teamwork, fun, and a sense of community.”
Registration is from 5pm at Woodland NS with the race commencing at 6.30pm.
You can also register online at: https://www.njuko.net/woodland.
Entry cost is €10 adult, €6 child, €25 family.
