Anne Marie Rodgers (Nic Ruaidhrí) to contest local elections

FIANNA FÁIL has nominated Anne Marie Rodgers to contest the forthcoming Local Government Elections to be held on the June 7, 2024.

The selection convention will be arranged shortly.

Anne Marie has been working in the Community and Voluntary sector in Co. Donegal for over 30 years, mainly in Community and Rural development.

She has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the issues that affect our communities and the ever-mounting challenges facing families in west Donegal, the daily struggles of households and the people right across the Glenties electoral area.

She has a natural passion for helping people, improving our communities and assisting our voluntary groups to access funding for their areas, to advocating for groups that wish to improve their areas and provide better services.

Anne Marie is always enthusiastic and proactive in offering support and help, she likes to gets things done.

She is one who has a vision for a better future and a voice for others

Anne Marie is well known in the Glenties Electoral area and has vast knowledge and experience of working to address the issues affecting our rural communities including the Gaeltacht, our off-shore islands, small fishing and farming communities, supporting employment in rural communities.

Anne Marie is a problem solver with a positive “can do” attitude and always does her utmost to represent the local community to the best of her ability at all times.

Anne Marie is a native of Tory Island originally, she is a fluent Irish speaker with a qualification in Rural Development from NUIG and additional qualifications in Sustainable Rural Tourism and Business.

Anne Marie Rodgers is a resident of Dunfanaghy since 2005; where she is proud to be a member of the vibrant local community.

As well as her passion for Community and Rural development, Anne Marie has produced award-winning documentaries for TG4/BBNI highlighting and championing local issues such as the Tory Island community’s fight for survival in the 1980’s, the recent plight of small fishermen, the ban on salmon fishing and the ever-increasing fishing restrictions that are hampering our coastal communities.

Anne Marie totally commits herself, if elected, to serve the entire electoral area and to work for all of the people.

She looks forward to a positive and engaging campaign in the weeks ahead.
