A YOUNG entrepreneur from Annagry was left star-struck when a TikTok icon turned up at her business as part of a new TV series set in the Donegal Gaeltacht.
The RTÉ series follows five familiar faces who ditched the sunshine and spent their summer holidays at Coláiste Bhríde, Rann na Feirste in Réaltáí na Gaeltachta which aired on RTÉ One on Tuesday night.
Sports Broadcaster Des Cahill, Tik-Tok superstar Lauren Whelan, Comedian Fred Cooke, Mayo footballer-turned-AFL-player Oisín Mullin and writer Amanda Brunker all immersed themselves in the student experience.
The celebrities spent the full week reconnecting with their native language in the gorgeous Donegal Gaeltacht.
They stayed with two local Bean an Tí Caitlín Nóra Frainc and Maighread Mhic Grianna, they danced the night away at ceilís and got stuck in to their copy books during intensive Irish classes with Múinteoir Niall Ó Sluain.
During the four-part series the celebrities visit local businesses such as the Croithlí Distillery and McDevitts Ice Cream in Annagry.
This month Mia McDevitt (21) is set to celebrate one year since opening the doors of her ice-cream shop which is situated in the heart of the Gaeltacht.
Since opening her business last March Mia has utilised her social media skills to create fun videos of herself and her staff preparing tasty treats.

Some of her videos have stacked up hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok, including videos as Gaeilge too.
Her savvy social media skills have people travelling from all over west Donegal for an ‘insta-worthy’ ice-cream.
So when she saw internet star Lauren Wheelan and a full camera crew outside her shop, she was left lost for words.
“I remember thinking this can’t be real, someone who has over a million followers and is such an idol to so many people is sitting outside my wee shop,” she laughed.
Mia is looking forward to featuring on the next episode of Réaltáí na Gaeltachta which will be aired on RTÉ One, next Tuesday at 7pm.
“It’s so cool to be on RTÉ One because everyone watches it, even if I do only end up being on screen for ten seconds,” she said.

Mia juggles running her own business with the challenges of being a full-time student in DCU, so for now she will be opened on the weekends only. She is looking forward to another busy summer season and teased that she has lots of exciting plans in store.
McDevitts Ice-cream is also set to feature in an upcoming TG4 production where presenter Barra Ó hÉ meets with young business owners in the Gaeltacht.
