Almost €43,000 paid out for slips, trips and falls

CLAIMS totalling almost €43,000 for slips, trip and falls have been paid out by Donegal County Council this year.

Figures obtained by the Donegal News show that 54 people were paid compensation so far in 2024. The total amount of claims paid out amounted to €42,458.

Fifty-five slip, trip and fall claims have been lodged with Donegal County Council this year to date.

Eighty-five claims regarding pothole damage have been lodged with Donegal County Council this year so far.

A spokesperson for Donegal County Council told this newspaper: “A total of €42,458 was paid in 2024 in respect of slips, trips and falls registered in 2024 and or registered in previous years.”
