Almost a homecoming for Davey Arthur

BY SEÁN P. FEENY
Visiting Donegal is very much a home-coming for the group due to the close ties that Davey has to the county, said Eddie Furey.

“We always love coming to Donegal and of course Davey’s mother Bridget is from Torr in Gaoth Dobhair. Bridget is a great woman and back in the day when I lived in Edinburgh as a young man I used to love going to their house, there was always great craic.”

As busy as ever the band this week performed on RTÉ Radio One’s John Murray Show from a live broadcast in Tallaght and recently they made yet another appearance on the Late Late Show where they performed their classic hit, The Red Rose Cafe.

Eddie said: “I remember our very first performance on the Late Late was back in 1979. It was very exciting as it was the first time we got to meet Gay Byrne with home we became great friends in later years and we performed many times on the show over the years.”
