Memories of times gone by as Alma is appointed new principal 

LETTERKENNY woman Alma Kavanagh has been appointed as the new principal of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál.

She is pictured with her teacher Miss Deeney and the class of junior infants on her first day at Scoil Mhuire gan Smál back in 1981.

This week has turned full circle for the past pupil when she returned to her old school after being appointed as the new principal.

She will leave her post as principal of St. Joseph’s NS, Rathmullan.
