BY CHRIS MCNULTY

TWO of the three games in Division One of the All-County Football League scheduled for Friday evening have been postponed.

While the Four Masters v Termon and Gaoth Dobhair v Naomh Conaill fixtures will not now be played, the Kilcar-Ardara game in Towney goes ahead.

It follows a meeting on Tuesday night between Competitions Controls Committee memebers and representatives from the Donegal senior football team management in Ballybofey on Tuesday night. With a number of injury concerns, the management requested that the Friday games not go ahead.

“Some clubs have ten games played, but Kilcar have only the seven played so far,” CCC Chairman Denis Ellis explained.

“They’re a little bit behind so we need to do a bit of catching up.”

Next weekend, the CCC plan to pencil Kilcar in for a Friday evening fixture, while the Chairman confirmed that Gaoth Dobhair and St Eunan’s have agreed to play a game minus their county players.

Tuesday’s meeting was attended by Ellis and secretary Seán McGinley on behalf of the CCC, while Jim McGuinness, Damian Diver and Paul McGonigle were present in the company of a representative of their medical team. Liason officer and county chairman Seán Dunnion also attended.

Elsewhere, the Burt v Red Hughs game in Division 3 has been postponed, with the Uris-Red Hughs and Burt-Naomh Colmcille games now going ahead on Saturday, while Milford v Aodh Ruadh will be played on Friday evening.
