AIB shuts for final time in Milford

MILFORD branch of Allied Irish Bank closed its doors for the final time on Friday when the bank shut 44 of their branches nation-wide leaving the town with no financial institutions.
The Milford branch is one of eight Donegal branch closures over the next year including Gweedore, Lifford, Dunfanaghy, Falcarragh, Raphoe, Moville and Bundoran.
AIB are advising their customers of the nearest bank branch or post office where they can continue to do business with the bank.
The other seven Donegal branches are listed for closure in 2013.
The move is part of a major rationalisation of branches within the group, which will see 67 branches close altogether by next year.
