AIB opening Saturdays in Letterkenny and Ballybofey

AIB

ALLIED Irish Banks in Letterkenny and Ballybofey opened on Saturday and will do for the next four Saturdays to assist customers who may be seeking to change banks as Danske Bank withdraw personal bank services from Ireland.

A spokesperson for AIB told the Donegal News this week that their decision to open Saturdays in the two towns is in order to facilitate Danske Bank customers who must find a new banking provider.

Both AIB branches will be open for a period of five weeks from February 8 until March 8, 2014. Opening times will be from 10am to 2pm and customers can either walk in or make an appointment.

AIB’s Regional Director for the Northwest region, Barry Naughton said: “Many people in the locality have been left without a banking provider following Danske’s decision to cease servicing personal customers. The staff in all our AIB branches in Donegal have been assisting customers over the past number of months to switch their accounts and this initiative aims to make the process as smooth as possible.

“Our staff are determined to make the transition as simple and as seamless as possible and on these Saturdays the focus will be around switching of current accounts, account opening and general product advice. In addition the AIB Quick Banking facilities will be available for customers to use as normal,” Mr Naughton said.
