Advantage Harps after McCourt nets winner

Finn Harps 1-0 Limerick FC

A FIRST half penalty from Paddy McCourt gave Finn Harps victory over Limerick in the first leg of their Promotion/Relegation Play-Off in Ballybofey tonight.

Limerick were the better team in the first half hour and Conor Ellis hit the post.

Harps took the lead in the 36th minute when Paddy McCourt scored a penalty after Jesse Devers was fouled.

Ollie Horgan’s team were 1-0 in front at half-time and they defended well in the second half.

Billy Dennehy and Barry Maguire both went close but couldn’t find the net for the visitors.

Harps survived a nervous finish and they are in charge of the tie ahead of the second leg in the Markets Field on Friday night.
