GERRY Adams has had to miss the opening of the new Sinn Féin offices in Letterkenny because of negotiations in Belfast.
The Sinn Féin party leader was due to cut the ribbon on the Eddie Fullerton/Bobby Sands Centre this evening but his colleague, Pearse Doherty, was forced to deputise at the last minute.
Hundreds of people gathered on the High Road to see a plaque unveiled to both Eddie Fullerton and Bobby Sands.
Presentations were also made to former MP Pat Doherty and Mick Quinn, both of whom stepped back from frontline politics earlier this year.
