Abbey Vocational School 1-13
Southwest Donegal 2-9
The Abbey Vocational School ran out narrow one-point over Southwest Donegal in a dramatic MacRory Cup encounter at Pearse Memorial Park on Friday night.
The Southwest Donegal side were ahead for the vast majority of this contest, leading two as the game entered the final quarter.
However, a run of six points without reply swung the tie into Pauric O’Donnell’s side’s favour as the clock entered red.
Gavin Sweeney converted a penalty late on to cut the deficit to a single point and they had opportunities to level proceedings through frees from Sweeney and Cian McConnell.
Although it wasn’t to be as the Donegal Town school secured the win to maintain their 100 percent record in the competition.
