Abbey Vocational School cruise into MacLarnon Cup final

Abbey Vocational School 2-14 St Patrick’s Grammar Downpatrick 0-6

Abbey Vocational School cruised into the final of the MacLarnon Cup with a dominant win over St Patrick’s in Garvaghy.

The Donegal Town school got in front from early on with placed balls from Conor Meehan (2) and a Kevin Muldoon ’45.

Aaron McGroary, Muldoon and Turlough Carr (2) added to the score before Seanan Carr raised the green flag on the stroke of half-time for a 1-7 to 0-1 lead.

Meehan (free), Muldoon (45), Conor McCahill and McGroary gave Jamie Brennan’s side a 13 point lead before St Patrick’s hit three scores of their own.

But three more frees from Meehan and a goal from Muldoon added to the score line as the Abbey will face Our Lady & St Patrick’s Knock, in the final.
