C is for Carr: Paddy Carr was the surprising choice as the Donegal senior manager after a long drawn out process. Rory Kavanagh was the clear favourite and then pulled out, with Carr stepping in to fill the void. He had difficulty in establishing a backroom team, and admitted he was surprised by the intense media interest in the team. Things unravelled quickly and it was harsh on the Fanad clubman who retired from his job as a school principal to take on the role, and had his county’s best interest at heart.
