A proud Letterkenny man – Funeral to take place in Glasgow on Saturday of Frank O’Donnell

THE funeral will take place in Clydebank, Glasgow on Saturday, January 11 of Frank (Francie) O’Donnell, formerly of Rosemount, Letterkenny.

Frank lived in Clydebank for most of his life, but down through the years, he remained in close contact with his family and his many friends back home in Letterkenny.

News of his passing at his home in Clydebank on St. Stephen’s Day was met with deep sadness among those who knew him.

Frank’s wife Hannah died in June 2023, just weeks after the death of their son Thomas (Tam) at the age of 63.
The family were very well known and their home at 177 Kirkwood Avenue in Clydebank was a place where many friends visited, and often offered a bed on a trip over to see Celtic.
A proud Letterkenny man, Frank was a son of Nellie and Hughie O’Donnell and he is survived by his sister Frances Walsh, Ballyraine.
He was predeceased by his brother, Mickey ‘The Boy’ O’Donnell.

He is also survived by five children, Maria McMonagle, Hughie, Sean, Gerry and Kevin; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Frank’s remains will repose at his home on Thursday and Friday, January 9 and 10 with rosary each night at 8pm.

His funeral will take place at the Holy Redeemer Church in Clydebank on Saturday, January 11 at 9.30am.
