A night of celebration as Liam Blake remembered at Leckview

It was a night of special memories and celebration for Letterkenny Rovers as the new floodlights were officially switched on at Leckview Park last Saturday night.

The lights have been installed on the newly redeveloped grass pitch and a large crowd gathered for Saturday night’s event where special guest was the Minister for Social Protection and Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.

Letterkenny Rovers marked the occasion by honouring the memory of former club president Liam Blake who passed away in 2022.

Members of the extended Blake family were in attendance while Liam’s wife Patsy cut the ribbon to mark the switching-on of the lights along with Minister Humphreys.

After the formalities, a Blakes family selection took on a Rovers select in the first match played under the new lights.
