A Donegal man has reportedly died in Portugal

There are unconfirmed reports this evening that a Donegal man has died in Portugal.

The man, who was reportedly detained in an Albufeira police station last night, was said to have been found dead in his cell this morning.

The man, who is said to live in Letterkenny, was arrested following an alleged assault on his companion, also thought to be in her late 20s.

His death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
