MARY Cannon from Meendrain outside Dungloe celebrated her 100th birthday in the Dungloe Community Hospital last week.
Retired Dungloe priest Fr Seamus Meehan celebrated Mass for Mary and her family and friends who had gathered to celebrate the special occasion.
Mary was presented with a cake from the Meenacross choir as she had been a loyal and faithful member of the choir for many years. Many of the traditional hymns which Mary favoured over the years were included in the Mass.
Mary was a gifted seamstress in her day and many of her previous clients came with photographs of the garments she had both made and repaired.
A great day was enjoyed by all, and Mary’s friends congratulated the staff of Dungloe Hospital for the wonderful care and support they have given her over the years.
The Meenacross band also serenaded Mary on her special day.
