SEAN MacCumhaill’s manager Marcel McGhee says his side need to start winning if they want to make the semi-finals of the Senior Hurling Championship.
MacCumhaill’s have had a difficult start to the Senior Championship, losing both of their opening games.
But they have come up against two of the ‘big three’ in Donegal hurling, losing out to St Eunan’s and Burt, while their game against Aodh Ruadh wasn’t played last Friday due to the Ballyshannon side not fielding a team in the championship this year.
Their opening game ended in a tough 2-23 to 2-6 loss to the Letterkenny men but MacCumhaill’s put in a much better performance against last year’s runners-up, as they were still in the lead with five minutes to go.
Burt however kicked on and scored a late goal to win by six points that day, but there were positives to take from the performance that day for McGhee.
“We were four points up against Burt with ten minutes to go and we missed a goal opportunity and a couple of points from play and frees then Burt came back and just pushed on,” MacCumhaill’s manager Marcel McGhee said.
