ONE of the county’s biggest employers has announced the appointment of a new senior managing director. Caroline Faulkner has been appointed head of Letterkenny’s Pramerica Systems Ireland.

The company employs up to 1,000 people at its Windyhall offices. She replaces Mr Henry McGarvey who stepped down earlier this year to pursue other business interests.

“We are delighted to promote Caroline to this position. Her proven skills and ability, depth of knowledge, dedication to quality service and commitment to community service make her the perfect choice to lead Pramerica into its future,” said John Fox, vice president, Global Business & Technology Solutions at PFI.

“As one of our original seven employees, Caroline played a key role in Pramerica’s success. Since then, I have been continually impressed with her ability to lead business projects that are critical to the success of our PFI business partners.”

Pramerica Systems Ireland provides essential computer-technology and client-contact services to PFI businesses around the world. Ms Faulkner, who is also senior vice president and chief information officer at Pramerica, collaborates with PFI senior executives to help ensure continuous business improvement through cost reduction, quality improvements, innovation and risk mitigation, said the company.

Ms Faulkner joined Pramerica as senior programme manager when the company was established in 2000. In 2002, she was promoted to director of information systems and became chief information officer in 2010.

In 2006, Ms Faulkner was awarded PFI’s “Rock Solid Leadership” award for her strong people management and collaboration skills.

Over the years, she has forged close working relationships between Pramerica, FAS Ireland and the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) to develop educational programmes that have created a pipeline of talented and prepared information technology professionals.

Prior to joining Pramerica, she was an information technology manager for Abbott Laboratories, a U.S. pharmaceutical company with five facilities in Ireland.
