A GROUP of 56 cyclists are preparing to cycle 423km from Cork to Donegal to raise funds for two well-known charities.
The cyclists, 16 of them who are Donegal natives, will set off from Cork this Thursday, and will be arriving in Letterkenny on June 1.
The cycle is in aid of two charities, Irish charity Pieta House and NICE, which is a UK based charity.
Pieta House is a well-respected Irish charity who offer much needed support to those in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm.
NICE, the Centre of Movement disorders based in Birmingham, England, do fantastic work with many individuals who are impacted by a range of physical difficulties.
In preparation, the team has been enduring weekly gruelling training sessions.
The route will test their endurance, with cyclists facing an elevation gain of 10,000 feet over the three days covering a whopping 423km.
